Brian Oakes

Trailblazer is a word that can describe Brian Oakes. Brian was born in Ohio in 1976 and over the years his curiosity in how things worked evolved into becoming an expert in a developing technology that would eventually transform the planet. The World Wide Web.

Brian was a listener and fan of Lighthouse 21 and joined the program support staff bringing his expertise and innovative approach to all things related to the internet. His contributions to Lighthouse 21 spilled over into benefitting Powermix, Spin 180 and KVTT. He hosted all the websites from his home in the beginning and made it possible to hear all of KVTT's evening programs on the web. This was before streaming on the internet became commonplace.

After spending many years with Microsoft and then living a semi-retired life, Brian in 2024 has added the title "author" to his portfolio. He and his co-author Carrie Nyman tell the tale of how Brian was targeted by hackers and the damage they did to his family in a book called "Undermined". I just didn't have the heart to crop Brian's lovely bride out of this picture. In fact I can't recall a time that I was ever with Brian that Brandi wasn't right there by his side. She was always in his bio pictures on Lighthouse 21's website, so it's fitting that she's here as well.
